Frisco Independent School District Honors Service to District (May, 2006)

From Superintendent Rick Reedy who hit his thirty year milestone with Frisco Independent School District to the employees who can now boast steady employment for the last five years, May is the month for recognizing service to the children and families of Frisco.

Employees who have been with the district five years were honored at ceremonies at their home campus or department, while 10, 20, 25, and 30 year employees were honored at a special ceremony at the Frisco Convention Center and Embassy Suites on the morning of May 8. Those honored included everyone from folks who work in maintenance, janitorial and transportation areas to top administrators. Reedy, who presided over the event was careful to note that everyone’s job, from keeping schools clean and bright and repairing air conditioners to working in administrative positions, is important to making FISD a success.

The service was a great time for old friends to touch base with folks who work on other campuses and to reminisce about old times. A video featuring various campuses and employees and photos of long-time FISD leaders, Reedy, Assistant Superintendent Doug Zambiasi and beloved teacher Alta Davis was shown to a cheering crowd. Zambiasi and Davis were recognized for 25 years of service.
