Frisco High School Swim Team Takes 1st at State (March, 2006)

The Frisco High School boys swimming and diving team won their 2nd consecutive State Championship Saturday, Feb. 27, at the University of Texas Swim Center and set a new state record in the 200 Free Relay. The boys team won all 3 relays and scored 265 total points, 79 points ahead of 2nd place Texas High School. The following are individual results:

Thiago Rebello, Hal Eubanks, Matt Giess, Jason Nix – 1st – 200 Medley Relay. They also set a new school record in the prelims with Rebello, Eubanks, Tyler Bassett, and Nix. Their time was also an All-American Consideration time.

Josh Pena, Colin Nix, Jason Nix, Hal Eubanks – 1st – 200 Free Relay. Their time set a new school record and a new STATE RECORD and was an Automatic All-American time.

Josh Pena, Matt Giess, Colin Nix, Thiago Rebello – 1st – 400 Free Relay.

Thiago Rebello – 3rd – 200 Individual Medley; 3rd – 100 Backstroke.

Josh Pena – 6th – 50 Freestyle; 4th – 100 Freestyle.

Hal Eubanks – 2nd – 100 Breaststroke with a time that was a new school record and Automatic All- American; 4th – 50 Freestyle and a new school record.

Jason Turner – 6th – Diving.

Tyler Bassett – 13th – 100 Butterfly.

Colin Nix – 10th – 100 Freestyle; tied for 4th – 100 Breaststroke.

Jason Nix – tied for 4th – 100 Breaststroke.

The girls team finished 13th overall at the State Meet.

Natalie Hoffman, Aryn Akin, Christina Kuhlmann, Jennifer Miller – 14th – 200 Freestyle Relay.
Jennifer Miller, Aryn Akin, Christina Kuhlmann, Shawna Watterson – 9th – 400 Freestyle Relay.

Shawna Watterson – 6th – 200 Individual Medley; 6th – 100 Freestyle.

Jennifer Miller – 9th – 100 Backstroke (Her time was a new school record)

Amanda Johnson – 14th – 100 Breaststroke.
