FHS Art Students Win National Art Honor Society Awards (August, 2006)

FHS Art Students Win National Art Honor Society AwardsSeven Frisco High School students won eight awards in the Texas State Slide Registry sponsored by the Texas Art Education Association and the National Art Honor Society for 2006, according to June Waggener, FHS art teacher. Each NAHS member submitted slides of three of his or her best artworks for consideration.

Out of the more than 400 works considered, judges selected the top 20 which included FHS Ravi Patel for his sculpture “Calamity” and Logan Fair for his digital image “Vision”. Joseph Weber’s artwork titled “False Idol” won the media award for computer graphics.

Blue Ribbon awards were also awarded to Jasmine Kim, Ashlynn Greenwood, Allison Mayes, Ravi Patel, and Devon Reynolds.

TAEA and NAHS sponsor the event to recognize exemplary work created by members of the Texas chapters.
