Roughriders Donate $10,000 to Frisco Education FoundationStepping up to the plate to support Frisco Education Foundation, Mike McCall, president of the Frisco Roughriders and Jeff Cogen, president of the Rangers, presented a $10,000 check to FEF at the Rangers exhibition game against the Florida Marlins. The exhibition game was held in Frisco at the Roughriders Dr. Pepper Ball Park just before the regular season began.

Accepting the check were Dr. Rick Reedy, Frisco Independent School District Superintendent, Bobby Johnson, Jr., past FEF president, K. Jonas, FEF Director, Sarah Claunch, president elect of the of FEF board and Bob Allen, current president of the FEF board of directors.

FEF is a foundation dedicated to supporting Frisco students with college scholarships and to supporting FISD teachers with the Grants for Great Ideas program. Each May, graduating seniors from FISD high schools are screened and interviewed by FEF board members who look at grades, community service, and need. FEF attempts to give scholarships to as many deserving students as possible. This gift from the Roughriders is another great example of the team’s community spirit and support of FISD, according to Jonas, FEF director.

Reedy says that he is grateful for this generous gift from the roughriders and hopes that the tremendous partnership between FISD and this ball team will continue through the years.
