FISD's Cecil Cypert Receives Cornerstone Award

Director of Construction Services Cecil Cypert was recently honored with the Cornerstone Award from the North Texas region chapter of the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI). He is very active in this organization which was founded in 1921 as The National Council on Schoolhouse Construction and is the primary advocate and resource for planning effective educational facilities. Fostering and disseminating best practices in creative school planning, CEFPI is the educational facilities expert, the only organization whose sole mission is improving the places where children learn. The Council is a not-for-profit organization, representing more than 3,000 practitioners in the United States, Canada, Australia and other nations worldwide.
The Cornerstone Award is a Southern Region exclusive award. You can only get this one time in your lifetime. It recognizes service "above and beyond". It is presented to individuals or groups in recognition of special continuous service to the chapter or region to those that clearly demonstrate Webster's definition of cornerstone, "the basic or main part, the foundation".
