Curtsinger Students Stick With Reading (June, 2009)

Stars Employees with Janice Scott Celebrate Stick With ReadingCurtsinger Elementary is still stuck on reading. Curtsinger has been recognized for the second year in a row reading 650,000 minutes to win the “Stick with Reading” contest that is conducted throughout the metroplex, according to Janice Scott, librarian.

Representatives from the Stars organization visited Curtsinger on May 28 to present the award and praise students.  Mike Simpson, who was enjoying the last few weeks of his mayoral term, also took a pie in the face.  He had offered to take the pie as an incentive for the students to commit to reading.
