Green Eggs and Ham Served Up to Corbell Kindergarten Students (March, 2007)

Green Eggs & Ham
Erin Garrison, kindergarten student at Corbell, was one of the students who like the character in the famous children’s book had misgivings about trying green eggs and ham.

Corbell kindergarten students have something in common with late author Dr. Seuss and his character Sam I Am – they have had green eggs and ham. The students gathered to listen to the book being read, then had a chance to experience the colorful meal prepared and served by FISD Nutrition Specialist Michelle Puckett. After the tasty and bright meal, the kindergarten team helped the students do a graph survey of who liked green eggs and ham and who did not. This was part of the Read Across America theme, according to Principal David Wehmeyer. The lesson covered reading, nutrition and mathematics, as well as the adventure of trying new foods.
