FISD Schools Plan for Community Parade Involvement(September, 2008)

Frisco ISD campuses are designing floats or preparing to enter their bands or sports teams in the annual Frisco Community Parade scheduled for November 8 at 11 a.m. on Main Street originating from Pizza Hut Park. The theme is Salute to the Troops.

The Community Parade Committee is made up of volunteers including former Mayor Mike Simpson and FISD School Board Member Buddy Minett among others. The committee has secured Texas Congressman Ralph Hall of the Fourth District to serve as parade grand marshal.

“We are very excited about plans for this year’s event. We already know a few schools are working on parade entry ideas and we hope for more soon. People should be able to sign up on-line in a matter of days. The website is www.Friscoparade.com and we are in the process of updating it,” Minett said. “We hope many other groups decide to enter this year. The fall parade is a long-standing tradition in Frisco and makes great memories for families.”

Information on fees is available on-line. Watch for details in coming weeks.
