Clark Student Wins Second Place in Texas School Safety Center Essay Contest (February, 2006)

Omar Cheikh-Ali of Plano, sixth grade ILA student at Clark Middle School in Frisco Independent School District, will receive a $300 cash prize from the Texas School Safety Center for an anti-drug essay. He will be invited to attend a winner’s assembly in Galveston on February 12 and asked to read his essay to the audience. The essay entitled “How to make America a Truly Drug-Free Land” was awarded second place in the Texas School Safety Center’s seventh annual middle school essay contest. Topics suggested by the TSSC included: Bullies and Victims, Making Positive Choices, and Kids and Peer Pressure and other issues relevant to today’s children. Several Clark students entered the contest.
