Centennial Titan Band Honored in Area Competition (November, 2005)

The Centennial High School Band competed at the UIL Area C Marching Contest this past Saturday in Mesquite. The band had advanced to this level by receiving straight 1st division ratings at the region level the weekend before. The contest consisted of the top 19 class 4A bands in the entire North East area. Following preliminary competition, the top 7 scoring bands were selected to perform again in the finals. We are proud to announce that the Titan Band advanced to the finals portion of the contest and finished in a tie for 6th place. This was just 3 spots away from being selected to attend the State Marching Contest. This is a tremendous accomplishment for the CHS Band. Because of the dedication and hard work of our fantastic students, the band has now become one of the best bands in the state in just the short 2 1/2 years our school has been open. Congratulations to all the students involved for this historic achievement!
