Christie Students Learn All About the Great State of Texas (February, 2007)

These two Christie buckaroos study ranch brands and copy them on to pieces of pretend rawhide made from brown paper.

These Christie cowboys and cowgirls sat under paper stars around an imaginary campfire to learn old favorites such as "Deep in the heart of Texas."

First Grade students at Christie learned all about the Great State of Texas in an integrated curriculum that included measuring and graphing cowboy boots, writing out a trail mix recipe and learning about measurements, reading and writing ranch brands and singing and reciting Texas songs and poems. Children were allowed to dress up for this fun, educational experience.
