Bledsoe Custodian Celebrates Citizenship (September, 2008)

Mayra CantuBledsoe Elementary Students kicked off Celebrate Freedom Week by honoring new United States citizen, Mayra Cantu, the campus daytime custodian.

Cantu has been in the country for 13 years. Becoming a citizen has been her goal for many years and she received her citizenship on September 11, 2008.

Principal Beverly Woodson and Superintendent Rick Reedy congratulated Cantu on this wonderful accomplishment at Good Morning Bledsoe. Cantu displayed her citizenship certificate to students. Cantu’s daughter, Natalie Cantu, who is in fifth grade at Bledsoe, and Reedy’s grandsons Nathan and Ryan Reedy joined in the congratulations.
