Two FISD Principals Take Leadership Roles with Professional Organization(August 27, 2007)

Anna Koenig, principal at Boals Elementary School, and Betty King, principal at Borchardt Elementary have been named to board positions with Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA).

Koenig has been named President-elect and King has been named Vice Chair of the Membership, Marketing and Public Relations Committee, according to Cecilia Cortez, spokesman for TEPSA.

Koenig, King and the other TEPSA officers were installed at the July Leadership Conference

Koenig has been in education for 16 years. She holds a masters degree from the University of North Texas. King is the current District 10 Principal of the Year. She has previously served on a state standing committee. She holds her masters degree from East Texas State University, now Texas A&M at Commerce and has been in education for 29 years.

TEPSA has more than 5,300 members. Its members supervise more than 150,000 teachers who direct the activities of more than 2.1 million elementary school children.

“We are very proud of Ms. Koenig and Ms. King and appreciate the leadership they both provide our district and through TEPSA,” said Rick Reedy, FISD superintendent of schools.
