District Cautions Drivers to Slow Down(August 23,2007)

Frisco Independent School District reminds all drivers to slow down and be aware of school zones. School begins Monday, August 27. Drivers need to be particularly alert for speed zones signs, the yellow flashing school zone lights and FISD crossing guards, according to Doug Zambiasi, Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services.

Elementary bells ring at 8 a.m. and the day ends at 3 p.m. and the middle school and high school hours are 8:40/8:45 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. Drivers are cautioned to remember that there are always many activities going on before and after school, as well. This is also the time of year when many new teenage drivers begin driving to and from school activities and FISD buses will be transporting students to school and many other events.

“We always want to keep our students safe when they are at school or traveling to and from school. The safety of our students depends on the awareness of all of us on the road,” Zambiasi said.
