Wakeland High School Students Honored for AP Scores(October, 2007)

Wakeland High School announced the names of students who have been named AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Program (AP) Exams, according to information provided by WHS this week.

The program offers students the opportunity to take college-level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP exams. About 18 percent of the more than 1.4 million high school students in 16,000 secondary schools worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to merit the recognition of AP Scholar.

The WHS students who took the May 2007 tests and received recognition are Krystal Bailey, Jordan Bin, Randall Flores, Lainey Gordon, Yusong Jin, Melissa Salmon, and Deborah Watson.  Three other students, Austin Lane, Ryan Piper and Allison Stewart were named AP scholars with Honor for their performance.
