  • Frisco ISD will take referrals for gifted and talented screening from Friday, February 4th through Friday, February 18th.

  • Students currently enrolled in Frisco ISD in grades 2 through 11 may be referred by parents, teachers, counselors, administrators or other community members for formal screening.

*Students who were assessed by the G/T program during the 09/10 school year are not eligible for further assessment at this time. Standardized test scores are considered valid for two years.

  • The first objective measure in the screening process is the Cognitive Abilities test (CogAT), which will be administered on Saturday, April 2nd. Students who receive a score of 126 or higher on a minimum of two subtests will meet criteria for the first objective measure of the screening process.

  • The second objective measure is the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS). Students who receive a score of 92% or higher on a minimum of two subtests will meet criteria for the second objective measure of the screening process.

  • If you would like to refer a student for the FISD QUEST/GT program, please contact the campus Gifted and Talented Teacher to request a referral packet. The completed packet must be returned to the campus GT Teacher no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18th.

*Students already identified for the FISD Gifted program do not need to retest.
