The Frisco Education Foundation Board was pleased to accept generous donations from CoServ and Sherman Residential at its January meeting. CoServ made a $35,000 donation to FEF for New Teacher Grants and Sherman Residential presented a $10,000 check to be used toward scholarships in the company name for FISD seniors who are going to college to study fine arts.
These companies are supporting education in a very meaningful way, noted Foundation Director Allison Miller. CoServ’s donation is used to provide funds to new teachers to buy supplies for their classrooms. The $35,000 donation brings CoServ’s Teacher Assistance Endowment Fund to more than $120,000. The new teacher grants are announced at the first of each school year. Sherman Residential’s funds are to be used this year to support the study of fine arts. Only seniors who plan to major in an area of fine arts will be eligible for the scholarship.
The Foundation is currently accepting online applications for scholarships for graduating seniors. The applications are due by 5 p.m. on February 4, no late applications will be accepted.
The Frisco Education Foundation is a not-for-profit 501c3 established in 1999 that exists solely to benefit the students and staff of Frisco ISD.
