The 2014 Mindbender Academy was an outstanding success!
-- Thank you to all of our sponsors --
What the parents are saying about the camp:
My daughter and her friend are having the best time this week! She can't stop talking every day about what all they did and what she learned. And the best part is she is now saying she wants to be an engineer - yea!
What one of the campers had to say about the camp:
I am really thankful to everyone who helped organize MindBender, this is not only from myself but from all the campers at MindBender. This whole week of camp was really exciting and I learned new and cool things. I am sure that MindBender is going to help me for the future with my inventions and innovative products. Can you please pass my thanks to everyone who helped organize MindBender academy, the instructors and the volunteers who came from NASA and Alcatel-Lucent.

Couple Leaves Legacy of Opportunity for Frisco ISD Students
A donation from Roger and Jody Lawler of Frisco will make a huge difference for generations of future Frisco ISD students.
The $1 million gift is the largest ever in the history of the Frisco Education Foundation.
The money will establish the Roger Lawler Endowed Honor Scholarship Fund. Interest generated from the endowment will provide college scholarships into perpetuity for graduating FISD seniors.
“This gift represents a major milestone for the Foundation and we could not be more humbled and honored to pay it forward to the benefit of our youth,” said Foundation Director Allison Miller. “It really means a lot that it comes from a family that has worked the land and been part of the community for so long.”
The Lawlers were formally recognized for their generous gift during a special presentation at this year’s Scholarship Night, held May 15 at Dr Pepper Arena.
The Foundation presented more than 700 scholarships totaling nearly $600,000 to help graduating FISD seniors continue their education.
The awards, included those funded by the Foundation and corporate, community and school groups, were presented to 537 students based on a number of criteria including academic achievement, community involvement, volunteer efforts and more.
“The goal is to assist those who would not otherwise be able to attend college due to financial hardship in fulfilling their dream of a post high school education,” said Roger Lawler.
Sam Roach, a longtime supporter of Frisco Education Foundation, first introduced the Lawlers to the Foundation last year. At that time, they donated $18,000 to support three separate $6,000 scholarships for members of the Class of 2013. The $1 million donation was presented in January 2014.
