How do I apply for a teaching position?

The quickest and most efficient way to submit your information into our application system is to fill out an online application at www.friscoisd.org. As stated on the website, in order to complete the application process please send in the supporting documentation, i.e. cover letter, resume, copy of transcripts, and a copy of your teaching certificate.

Do I need to mail in official transcripts for with my application?

No, a photocopy of your transcripts is sufficient for application purposes.

How long will my application remain online?

Your application will remain online for two years. After two years, you must resubmit your application and supporting documentation. Due to high volumes of paperwork, after one year your hard copy documentation will be archived. If you would like it to remain active please let us know.

How can I schedule an interview with HR?

Human Resources does not conduct central office interviews for teaching positions. Interviews are conducted at the campus level.

Are you opening new schools next year?

Yes, we have four new schools opening for the 2008-2009 school year.

If I apply for a substitute position, do I have to fill out another application for a full-time teaching position?

Yes. They are two separate offices, with separate applications. Substitute files must be available to be accessed on a daily basis. The full-time teaching applications must be kept on file for any principals to review when an opening occurs.

Do I have to be certified to teach?

In order to apply for a teaching position with Frisco ISD, you must either hold a Texas Educator Certificate, or be accepted in an Alternative Certification Program.

What Alternative Programs does your district accept?

The program must be on the list of SBEC approved programs located at www.sbec.state.tx.us/SBECOnline/edprep/region.asp.
