Staff Information
 

We staff three types of Crossing Guards:

 

Permanent Crossing Guard:

  • set locations for the moring and afternoon shifts
  • expected to work Monday thru Friday
  • responsible for student counts at their location
  • must notify Transportation West office staff when they are going to be absent

Substitute Crossing Guard:

  • not assigned a permanent location
  • select your schools you want to sub at
  • works when their schedule allows
  • may be assigned last minute or called days in advance

On-Call Crossing Guard:

  • calls office staff every day, twice a day to get their assignment
  • expected to call in Monday thru Friday
  • may be assined a location in their zone (See zones below)
  • can work elementary or extended shifts
  • is guaranteed 3.25 hours a day (may not have to work if a sub is not needed)
  • must notify Transportation West office staff when they are going to be absent

Training
 

Frisco ISD and the Frisco Police Department host three Crossing Guard Certification Classes each school year (August, November and February). This Certification will be vailid for two years. A registration letter will be sent to your home when it is time for you to attend the Certification Class.
