Frisco ISD students will have the opportunity to take a placement exam to place into a LOTE course rather than test out (CBE). Placement Exams will be administered in the following:
*Our goal is to place students in to a PAP class, if possible.
Note: If a student takes a LOTE Placement Exam and scores an 60 or higher, the student will be enrolled in a higher level of the language. If the student gains credit in that higher level, credit will be granted for the lower level(s) automatically. (“P” on the transcript with no grade points).
A student may take the placement exam during either of the 2 testing windows although LOTE Testing Window 2 is preferred for placement for the upcoming school year. A student in 7th or 8th grade will take their placement exam at their home middle school campus. A new student to FISD and/or a rising 10th-12th grade student will take their placement exam at their home high school campus. *The earliest a student can take a LOTE Placement Exam is in 7th grade.
