The District Improvement Team shall advise the Board or it’s designee in establishing and reviewing the District’s educational goals, objectives, and major districtwide classroom instructional programs identified to enhance the learning environment for FISD. The committee shall serve exclusively in an advisory capacity.

Committee Membership:

  • 12 Elementary Teaching Professionals - Nominated and voted for by peers, unless serving a second term

  • 6 Middle School Teaching Professionals - Nominated and voted for by peers, unless serving a second term

  • 6 High School Teaching Professionals - Nominated and voted for by peers, unless serving a second term

  • 4 Elementary Non-Teaching Professionals - Nominated and voted for by peers, unless serving a second term

  • 2 Middle School Non-Teaching Professionals - Nominated and voted for by peers, unless serving a second term

  • 2 High School Non-Teaching Professionals - Nominated and voted for by peers, unless serving a second term

  • 2 Parent representatives (minimum) -  Application, appointed by FISD staff

  • 2 Business Partner representatives (minimum) - Application, appointed by FISD staff

  • 2 Community Member representatives (minimum) - Application, appointed by FISD staff

  • District Level Department representatives - Appointed by FISD staff

Meetings/Estimated Time Commitment: Approximately 4-6 meetings per year/ 1 to 1.5 hours each meeting after school hours.

Terms/Term Limits: A minimum of 2 year terms.

Appointment Timeframe: Appointments are made yearly at the beginning of each school year following the committee application deadline at midnight on August 31.
