school overview

Robyn Jackson, author of the book Never Work Harder Than Your Students, outlines keys principles for mastery teaching.

She declares that a focus on principles of education rather than isolated strategies and canned approaches can prepare teachers and their students for mastery teaching and learning respectively.

The mastery principles are

* Start Where Your Students Are

* Know Where Your Students Are Going

* Expect to Get Your Students There

* Support Your Students

* Use Effective Feedback

* Focus on Quality, Not Quantity

* Never Work Harder Than Your Students

As you begin to gather and unpack your teaching and learning tool kits for the year, think about the one principle that can most impact your year and make it a goal.

Best wishes for an awesome start to the new school year,

Jacqueline Kennedy
