2020-21 New Student Enrollment

Frisco ISD serves students who live within the District's attendance zone in Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Little Elm. Your child must live in Frisco ISD to attend FISD schools.

Attendance Zones

Access attendance zone maps to see if your address falls within the District's boundaries. This tool shows which school/s your address is zoned for in the upcoming school year. If your address falls near the District boundary, you may wish to contact us to verify attendance.

Not sure which school your student/s are zoned to attend? Search your address or check zones by map, street name or subdivision.

New families should note that two FISD campuses – Liscano and Nichols elementary schools – are closed to new student enrollment for the 2020-21 school year unless the family has a student entering Kindergarten. New students in grades 1-5 will enroll at nearby campuses instead with transportation provided by the District. View more details on Liscano and Nichols.

On-Campus or Virtual Instruction

Due to COVID-19, Frisco ISD will offer students and parents the choice of on-campus or virtual instruction in the 2020-21 school year. Learn more about the learning environments in order to prepare to make your selection as part of the registration process. The choice of learning environment will be a required question in the online registration form linked below as of July 9, 2020. It should also be noted that the state of Texas will require students to have up-to-date immunization records or a valid medical or conscientious exemption to start the school year, regardless of whether the student participates in on-campus or virtual instruction.

Enrollment Process

To register your child for the 2020-21 school year, please read and complete the steps outlined below:

Gather Required Documents

Frisco ISD requires a parent or guardian provide the following documents to complete the registration process:

Please be sure to review the documents accepted for proof of residency and double check that your child's immunization records are up to date and reflect all the requirements of the state of Texas, which may vary from other states/countries.

If a language other than English is spoken most of the time in your home and by your child, you will be contacted by your child’s campus to schedule an assessment date to determine your student's eligibility for the appropriate language program: bilingual education or English as a Second Language (ESL).

Finalize the Enrollment Process

Once you have completed the online registration form and uploaded the required documents, you will receive a confirmation email. Please note, however, that enrollment is not complete until the documentation is reviewed and processed by District staff. Frisco ISD will process new student registration in the order in which online submissions were received. Parents will receive a welcome letter to the District via email once their online registration form has been processed and enrollment is complete.

Middle and High School Students
Once enrollment has been completed, middle and high school parents will be contacted by a school counselor or counseling representative to facilitate the course selection process based on transcripts or report cards from the student’s previous school. New middle school students are asked to review and complete the course planning document for the appropriate grade level to aid in this process. High school students and parents are encouraged to review the High School Academic Guide and Course Catalog to see all the course offerings available prior to meeting with the counselorIt should be noted that most, but not all, middle and high school courses will be available through online instruction. If families plan to choose virtual instruction for the 2020-21 school year, they should also review the list of available online courses through the Virtual Academy. Additionally, due to scheduling limitations, some courses may not be offered based on student interest within the specific environment requested. For courses not available through FISD, high school students may also pursue opportunities to obtain outside credit following the guidelines outlined in the Academic Guide and Course Catalog.
